Wirral Food and Drink Festival postponed again

The Wirral Food, Drink and Music Festival has been postponed for a second year running because of continued uncertainty over the Coronavirus pandemic.

The event was due to go ahead in Birkenhead Park last September, headlined by OMD, The Coral and Echo & The Bunnymen.

It was rearranged for this September but now organisers Wirral Council have announced that the popular attraction has been put off for a further 12 months – with the three famous Merseyside bands still slated to perform.

The festival will now take place from September 2-4, 2022.

A statement from the council today said: “It’s with a heavy heart that we unfortunately announce the postponement of this year’s Wirral Food, Drink and Music Festival due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“The decision to reschedule has been taken due to the ongoing uncertainty around the roadmap to recovery.

“We're already counting down the days until the vibrant weekend full of foodie delights, chef demonstrations, and world-class music.”

All tickets will be automatically transferred to the new date.

Anyone who is unable to attend the rescheduled date and wants to request a refund should contact the Floral Pavilion box office on 0151 666 0000 by July 8, 2021 and include booking name, transaction number, postcode and contact number.
