Wirral Chamber Music Festival returns for summer 2022

Wirral Chamber Music Festival returns to venues across the area this month.

The event, which is organised by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic’s orchestra leader Thelma Handy and cellist Alex Holladay, runs from June 26 to July 3.

Its aim is to promote a love of classical music by making world-class chamber music exciting and accessible for people living in Wirral.

Liverpool Wind Collective, the Brahms String Sextet, Wirral Youth Brass and London Handel Players are all on the 2022 programme.

The festival opens on Saturday, June 26 with a String Showcase at Mere Brook House in Thornton Hough where members of the festival’s Youth String Quartet Academy showcase their talent.

Other venues include Oxton, Birkenhead and Heswall Hall – where the world-renowned London Handel Players will perform a terrific programme of Baroque music.

Artistic director Thelma Handy said: “Our resounding aim is that there will be something here for everyone, and to spread the joy of live music.”

Wirral Chamber Music Festival runs from June 26 to July 3. Full programme details and tickets HERE
