Unity Theatre announces Christmas show for 2023
The Unity Theatre has announced the return of its Christmas show for the first time since the Covid pandemic.
It will stage Star of Wonder from December 12-23.
The production by Ellesmere Port-based Theatre Porto and Liverpool company Teatro Pomodoro is directed by Nina Hajiyianni.
Star of Wonder, which uses clowning, shadow theatre and puppetry, has been made with ideas from students at local primary schools and will be performed by a cast of international and learning-disabled performers.
The show takes audiences on an adventure with three young friends, who embark on a journey (in a shopping trolley) to follow a star.
They fall-out, get lost, overcome obstacles, and finally find what they are looking for in what is described as a hilarious, magical, and memorable tale of friendship.
All performances will take place in a relaxed, autism-friendly environment and up to 300 tickets are being given away to local d/Deaf, disabled neurodivergent and refugee children and their families through the Unity’s community ticket project.
The two-week run will also include after-school Pyjama Performances for younger children.
Star of Wonder is at the Unity Theatre from December 12-23. Tickets from £12 HERE
