The Book of Mormon makes Liverpool Empire return in 2025
The Book of Mormon is set to return to Liverpool in 2025.
The multi-award-winning smash hit musical will be at the Liverpool Empire from September 30 to October 18.
Tickets go on sale to ATG members on November 18 and on general sale on November 22 at 10am.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s musical tells the story of two Salt Lake City Mormons sent as missionaries to Uganda, hoping for a few baptisms and a couple of conversions. Instead, they are welcomed by some very harsh realities and a particularly unpleasant warlord.
The hilarious musical breathes three-dimensional, all-singing, all-dancing life into the absurdities of Mormon dogma, while simultaneously being incredibly rude, potentially offensive and above all, unexpectedly endearing.
Since making its world premiere in March 2011 at New York’s Eugene O’Neill Theatre, where it won nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, The Book of Mormon has been performed on three continents and won more than 30 international awards.
It came to the Liverpool Empire in summer 2022 after previous touring dates planned for 2020 and then 2021 had to be cancelled because of the pandemic.
The show now returns as part of the Lime Street theatre’s centenary year.
