Robert Vincent brings Americana to Liverpool audiences in two gigs

Liverpool fans have two chances to catch singer-songwriter Robert Vincent in the city before Christmas.

The award-winning Crosby-born purveyor of Americana, country and folk – dubbed ‘the real deal’ by ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris – is set to appear at the Music Room at the Philharmonic Hall this Friday, August 30, in a triple-headlining gig alongside Kristian Bush and Jeff Cohen.

The intimate, acoustic sets will feature all three musicians’ own songs and the stories behind the numbers, as well as insights into cuts for other stars like Sugarland, The Shires, Josh Groban and The Spin Doctors.

Then the 42-year-old returns to the stage on December 7, this time at the Tung Auditorium in Oxford Street, celebrating his fourth studio album Barriers which follows his 2020 release In This Town You’re Owned, which won the Americana Music Association UK album of the year.

Among songs from the latest LP are The Insider, whose music video features Vincent superfan David Morrissey.

Meanwhile in between the two dates, Vincent is heading Stateside as the only artist from Liverpool invited to appear at the Americana Music Association’s Americanafest in Nashville, running from September 17-21.

An extensive autumn tour of the UK follows to support the new album, and then in November Vincent has also been asked to open for Led Zeppelin legend Robert Plant on his Saving Grace tour’s UK dates.
