River of Light returns for 2023

The popular River of Light trail returns to the Liverpool waterfront this autumn.

The free 10-day event, this year titled United by Light, will take place from October 27 to November 5, taking visitors on a 1.2 mile (2km) route around the city’s stunning riverside and city centre locations including Exchange Flags and Liverpool ONE.

It will feature a host of fantastic light and sound installations from local, national and international artists.

Last autumn’s River of Light, which was held over 17 days, attracted a record 250,000 who enjoyed illuminated installations including world premiere commissions and paid homage t the World Gymnastics Championships which were taking place in the city at the same time.

Full details of the 2023 event, which is organised by Culture Liverpool, are set to be revealed next month.

River of Light runs from October 27 to November 5.
