NYE 2024 events in Liverpool
Liverpool venues are set to help revellers see in the New Year this December with a host of entertainment and events.
Whether you want to get dressed up to the nines to party the night away or just sit back and be entertained by others, there’s a busy programme planned at locations right across the city.
Several theatres are staging New Year’s Eve performances of their Christmas shows to help bring in the New Year with a bang. Oh yes they are.
The Rocky Horror Show is taking over the Liverpool Playhouse for the holiday season and there are two chances to catch the cult classic on December 31 – one at 5.30pm and the second at 8.30pm.
For families who want to do something on New Year’s Eve but still be home in time for bed, the Everyman’s famous Rock ‘n’ Roll panto Rapunzel will be letting down its hair at 10.30am and 2.30pm, while just across the road at the Hope Street Theatre Sleeping Beauty will run at 11am and 2pm.
National Museums Liverpool venues will be open from 11am to 4pm on December 31. Catch the Holly Johnson exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool, take a journey through the astounding Bees: A Story of Survival exhibition at the World Museum, join the Conversations at the Walker Art Gallery or head across the Mersey to be Bedazzled by vintage eveningwear at the Lady Lever in Port Sunlight.
Talking of dazzling, the spectacular St George’s Hall Concert Room is the venue for A Viennese Christmas Spectacular by Candlelight with the London Concertante performing at 3pm.

Fancy a Fab Four-fuelled journey into the New Year? The world-famous Cavern Club has a New Year’s Eve Party on its front stage with Beatles Complete among the line-up, while there’s a separate ‘Happy New Year’ night with the Cavern Club Beatles in the Live Lounge.
Meanwhile up the hill in Hope Street they’re stepping back into the 70s at the Philharmonic Hall with a Mamma Mia: Happy New Year event in the venue’s Music Room and the Abba-tastic Thank You For the Music symphonic celebration in main hall. Tickets are selling fast.
Hot Water Comedy has no fewer than three New Year's Eve specials at its Blackstock Market base - one at 4pm, one at 7pm and one that starts at 8pm.
And what is billed as Liverpool’s biggest New Year’s Eve, Show Me Luv, takes place at the Invisible Wind Factory in the North Docks, with the party getting started at 9pm.
Committed party animals can also enjoy special December 31 events at venues like Metrocola in Leece Street, the Navy Bar in Stanley Street, Shankly Hotel, and City Vaults in Cook Street which is organising a Great Gatsby Speakeasy Party.
Or if you just want a celebratory meal out, many of the city’s bars, restaurants and hotels have got special New Year’s Eve menus and events.
