Nominations open for Liverpool City Region culture awards


Nominations are now open for the sixth annual Liverpool City Region Culture and Creativity Awards.

There are 15 categories in contention for this year’s hotly contested awards including Artist/Creative of the Year, Arts Organisation of the Year, Inspirational Young Person, Borough of Culture ‘Star of the Year’ and People’s Choice for Outstanding Contribution to Culture.

The annual awards are organised by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as part of Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram’s 1% for Culture pledge and aim to celebrate the individuals and organisations whose work contributes to the region’s thriving cultural and creative ecosystem. Winners are chosen by an independent judging panel based on the quality of their work.

An awards ceremony will be held in Wirral – this year’s Borough of Culture - in March.

The full list of categories is Artist/Creative of the Year, Arts Organisation of the Year, Inspirational Young Person, Innovation, Innovator of the Year, Heath and Wellbeing, Environmental, Improving Education and Learning, Community Cohesion, International Reach, Preparing for Work, Business in the Arts, Borough of Culture ‘Star of the Year’, People’s Choice and the Judges Inspiration Award for Outstanding Achievement.

Nominations can include an individual, organisation, group or partnership that is involved in the creation, promotion and use of culture and creativity within the performing arts, visual arts, digital arts, sculpture, craft, photography, film and broadcast media, technology, business, innovation and science, literature, and museums, galleries and heritage.

And nominees must live, study and/or work in the Liverpool City Region (Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral) or have created work/projects that significantly benefit the residents or visitors to the Liverpool City Region and/or has positively contributed to the development of the local economy.

Nominations should be for work between October 29 2023 and October 25 2024, with the closing date being Friday, October 25.
