Mary Poppins flies in to Liverpool in 2026

Spit spot! Mary Poppins is flying in to Liverpool as part of the smash hit musical’s UK tour.

The multi-award-winning stage spectacular comes to the Liverpool Empire from January 14-31 2026.

Tickets go on pre-sale to ATG+ members on February 24, and general sale on February 28.

Based on the stories of PL Travers and the Walt Disney film, the tale of the world’s favourite nanny arriving on Cherry Tree Lane features what are described as “dazzling choreography, incredible effects and unforgettable songs”.

The score includes the classic Sherman Brothers songs like Jolly Holiday, Step in Time, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Feed the Birds with new songs and additional music and lyrics by the Olivier award-winning British team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

The book is by Julian Fellowes and this production is co-created by Cameron Mackintosh.

The set and costume designs are by Bob Crowley while the production has sound design by Paul Gatehouse and lighting by Hugh Vanstone, and choreography by Sir Matthew Bourne (who also co-directs). The director is Richard Eyre.
