Liverpool to host Van Gogh Experience UK premiere

Liverpool has been chosen to stage the UK premiere of a stunning immersive celebration of the life and work of Vincent van Gogh.

Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience has already been seen by more than five million people in the US and Canada.

Now the show, in which more than 300 of the Dutch artist’s paintings are brought to life with cutting-edge technology and a special soundtrack, is set to be showcased at the city’s Exhibition Centre this summer.

It will run at the waterfront landmark from June 27 to July 14, with tickets going on pre-sale next Monday and general sale at 10am on March 6.

Visitors will experience the post-Impressionist’s vision turned from two-dimensional artworks into three-dimensional, fully immersive scenes that are full of colour and light.

Some of van Gogh’s most famous works, among them Sunflowers, Starry Night and Terrace of a Café at Night, are included in the spectacular show which also tells the artist’s life story, including through some of the many letters he exchanged with his younger brother - and chief supporter - Theo.

Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience comes from Annerin Productions, which also brought Beatles show Let It Be to UK stages, and the Paquin Entertainment Group.

Along with general entrance, VIP tickets are available and there is also the opportunity to do special Saturday morning yoga sessions inside the exhibition.
