Liverpool date for hit musical Come From Away

Multi award-winning musical Come From Away is coming to Liverpool as part of its inaugural UK tour.

The smash hit stage show, based on the incredible true story of the tiny Newfoundland town of Gander which became a refuge for dozens of flights in the aftermath of the Twin Towers attacks, arrives at the Liverpool Empire from March 12-23, 2024.

Almost 7,000 air passengers from all over the world were diverted to the remote Canadian airport after terrorists hijacked four planes over US skies on September 11, 2001.

The life-affirming Olivier and Tony Award-winning musical – a celebration of hope, humanity and unity - highlights how the tiny Newfoundland community welcomed these ‘come from aways’, and how enduring friendships blossomed in the wake of the tragedy.

A dozen actors play 84 characters, from the quick-thinking town mayor to American Airlines’ first female pilot to the mother of a New York firefighter.
