Liverpool arena date for Boy George in Peter Pan spectacular
Boy George is used to playing arenas – but when he comes to Liverpool this December it will be in a very different role. Oh yes it will!
The singer, actor, presenter and artist is playing dastardly Captain Hook in a spectacular touring production of Peter Pan.
Tickets for the show, which is at the M&S Bank Arena on December 2-3, go on general sale on Wednesday, May 17 at 10am and cost from £26.48 to £58.12.
The big budget extravaganza adaptation of J M Barrie’s much-loved tale comes from the same production team who brought Elf – The Musical to the waterfront venue last year.
And they are promising a “supersize spectacle” with a cast of 50 including a dozen cirque performers and a troupe of Irish and Highland dancers, aerial stunts, a giant battle where the audience throw cannon balls at Hook’s ship and a death-defying escape from a locked water tank by rising comedy star Jordan Conway who is playing Peter Pan.
Boy George says: “I’m really looking forward to playing Captain Hook and showing off my evil side. I make my first entrance on a life size galleon that sails around the stage in front of an amazing water-wall fountain.
“Although the show has traditional pantomime elements, it is so much more, being a mix of cirque and spectacular event and I get a chance to fight a giant animatronic crocodile. What’s not to like?”
Producer Jon Conway adds: “I’m thrilled to be working with Boy George, surely one of the most iconic stars of all time, who will make this production stylish and unique.
“We use every square inch of the stage and auditorium to deliver a massive production both breath-taking and hilarious. Two huge LED screens make sure nobody ever misses any of the action.”
