Jodie Comer makes Liverpool stage debut in Prima Facie tour

Childwall-raised screen star Jodie Comer is set to make her professional Liverpool stage debut next spring.
The 32-year-old will reprise her award-winning role in the hard-hitting drama Prima Facie at the Liverpool Playhouse as part of a national tour.
The production comes to the Williamson Square theatre from March 17-21, 2026.
Tickets range from £37-£57 with priority booking opening on March 25, and general booking on March 27.
Former St Julie’s High School student Comer said today: “It’s a huge privilege to return to Prima Facie for one last time and take this important play on tour across the UK and Ireland. The resonance of Suzie Miller’s writing, both in London and New York, exceeded anything we could have imagined.
“I’m so thrilled to have the opportunity to get the team back together and take the production to theatres around the country, including my hometown of Liverpool. On a personal note, I can’t think of a better finale to what has been such an incredible and deeply rewarding chapter in my life.”
Tessa is a thoroughbred. A young, brilliant barrister who loves to win. She has worked her way up from working class origins to be at the top of her game; prosecuting; cross examining and lighting up the shadows of doubt in any case. An unexpected event forces her to confront the lines where the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof and morals diverge.
Comer won an Olivier Award for her performance when she made her theatrical debut in the gripping, one-woman play at The Harold Pinter Theatre in London and subsequently also won the Tony Award when it transferred to Broadway.
The NTLive and Empire Street Productions live capture has also enjoyed two record breaking cinema releases.
The play, written by Suzie Miller, is directed by Olivier Award winner Justin Martin. The creative team also includes Rebecca Lucy Taylor – the Brit Award nominated star of Self Esteem – who is the production’s composer.
