It's Derby Day at Liverpool's Royal Court this September

Reds and Blues go head-to-head in a new ‘marital’ comedy coming to the Royal Court stage this September.
Ian Salmon’s The Derby-Days will be premiered at the Roe Street theatre from September 12 to October 11.
Dave Derby and Debbie Day are happily married. Well, they’re not married really.
And they’re not that happy on Derby Day because Dave’s a die-hard red and Debbie’s a proper blue. Even their cat’s got two names. What sort of cat answers to Divock and Duncan?
Their daughter Chloe is back from London with a new man in tow and he’s got a deep, dark secret. One that could cause more chaos in the Derby-Day family than Wayne Clarke and Gary McAllister combined.
With her parents acting like kids, Chloe is fuming, and this might be the final straw. Will they stop kicking off before the big game?
Ian Salmon’s previous shows for the Royal Court are the smash hit Girls Don’t Play Guitars, which has enjoyed two successful runs, and The Comeback Special which garnered him a runner-up prize in the inaugural Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize in 2015.
His other stage work includes Hillsborough drama Those Two Weeks and Venus Rising.
The Darby-Days is at Liverpool’s Royal Court from September 12 to October 11. Tickets HERE
