A one-day family festival is set to take over the Liverpool waterfront next month.
The Last Days of Summer – being held on Saturday, August 31 – will be staged at four locations from Princes Dock to ACC Liverpool.
The new festival is a collaboration between the Liverpool BID Company, Royal Albert Dock, Culture Liverpool and Peel.
Visitors can expect performances, music activities, food, drink and ‘wellbeing’ events.
The full programme of events is yet to be revealed, but the Pier Head will be the centre for performances and activities, while Mann Island will host free family workshops and activities and the Royal Albert Dock will be a food, drink and music hub.
Meanwhile Princes Dock will become a wellbeing hub with free yoga, mindfulness, sound baths and open water swimming.
And along the waterfront people can also enjoy shows and performances through the day including street performers ‘Gulls’, interactive games, canvas painting, DJs, a LUSH activation Festival Spa Bar, Craft + Code workshops and more.
Liverpool BID Company chief executive Bill Addy says: “We want this event to truly welcome everybody, and for people to enjoy the whole of the waterfront, from the ACC Liverpool right up to Peel and the Pier Head.
“Free activity really does make people feel a sense of ownership and community in the city, as the summer comes to a close, we want to celebrate that with everyone.”
