Covid strikes cast of Royal Court Christmas show
The Royal Court’s Christmas show has been struck by Covid.
Four members of the cast of The Scouse Sleeping Beauty, which was due to open tonight, have gone down with the virus during this week – meaning the full production won’t be able to be staged until November 14 at the earliest.
But in a case of ‘the show must go on’ the theatre has announced that remaining members of the cast have put together a replacement evening created from the show's songs and “some of the funny stuff” to entertain opening night ticketholders.
A statement from the theatre on its website says people with tickets between November 5 and November 14 can either take advantage of the venue’s Coronovirus Refund Guarantee or swap to another date.
It adds: “Or you can come and see the new version of the show and also re-use your tickets at a later date if you want to see the full version. There is limited availability for the rest of the run and no dining tickets left, but our amazing Box Office staff will help you to find a date that works for you.”
The Scouse Sleeping Beauty is due to run at the Royal Court until January 15.
