Comedians to catch in Liverpool this March

The days are getting longer, and spring finally seems ready to…well, spring. So why not celebrate with a good laugh during March?
Here is a round-up of where you can catch comedians in Liverpool – and beyond – this month.
There’s No Kissing in the Bingo Hall when Lou Sanders takes to the stage at the Liverpool Playhouse on March 1 with a show about being human – or, as Sanders has it, ‘a deep dumb show for the masses’.
Carl Hutchinson is also in town tomorrow (March 1) with his new tour Today Years Old which he brings to Hot Water Comedy Club at Blackstock Market.
Tiff Stevenson visits Hot Water on March 5 with Husband Material, as does Mark Simmons, winner of Dave’s Joke of the Fringe in 2024, and they are followed on March 6 by Eshaan Akbar with Can’t Get no Satisfakshaan and on March 7 by ‘agricultural icon’ Katie Norris who brings Farm Fatale to Blackstock Street.
Deirdre O’Kane is Kaning It at the Playhouse on March 8 where comedy fans are promised ‘a night of relentless laughs fuelled by warped personal insight’.
On the same evening, Simon Munnery is in residence at the Royal Court Studio with his new touring show. Expect all your classic Munnery one-liners, sketches and anecdotes all delivered by one of the finest gag writers in the comedy business.
And Richard Blackwood is Live at Hot Water Comedy Club where he promises to deliver an hour of ‘pure heavyweight punchlines and anecdotes’.
Hot on his heels at Hot Water is Ahir Shah on March 9 with his award-winning stand-up show Ends, Adam Rowe on March 12 and 13 where he will try out new material on a home audience, New York comedians Stef Dag and Gabby Bryan on March 13, and award-winning Tony Law with The Law Also Rises on March 14.
Saturday, March 15 sees the Blackstock Market club hosting shows by Hugh Davies and Sean McLoughlin.
Laughterhouse presents Mick Miller Live at Hanger 34 in Greenland Street on March 18, 20 and 21.
Paul Smith shares his Pablo touring show at Hot Water Comedy on March 19 and 20 but tickets are scarce, and on March 19 there’s also Tiny Tim’s BIGGEST Adventure, while writer, comedian and actor Rob Auton arrives at Hot Water on March 20 with his new The Eyes Open and Shut Show, BBC New Comedy Awards finalist William Thompson presents Scumbag Millionaire on March 21 and Lee Kyle brings Bottle It to the venue on March 23.
Matt Jones Is Bonkers on March 26, Reece Kid is in residence on March 27 and musical comedian and cabaret star Sarah Hester Ross is Serving on March 28.
Further afield, award-winning funnyman Phil Walker is a Happy Bunny at The Atkinson in Southport on March 8.
Al Murray takes time out from writing history books and co-presenting the acclaimed podcast We Have Ways of Making You Talk to grab a pint and bring his Pub Landlord to the Floral Pavilion on March 22.
Need help make sense of the questions you probably already had the answers to? The Pub Landlord is heading for New Brighton to help.
Meanwhile on March 23, Su Pollard is Still Fully Charged at the same venue, celebrating 50 years in showbusiness with a night of ‘hilarious laughter, fabulous songs and wonderful stories’.
More details and tickets from individual venues.
