Art Auction at Athenaeum celebrates Liverpool talent


Work from talented Liverpool artists is set to go under the hammer at a special auction being held at the Athenaeum tonight.

Smithdown Social Arts Hub is holding the event at the historic city centre club which will be hosted by actor Eithne Browne.

Work with reserve prices between £50 and £500 will be available to bid on, while there will also be guided tours ahead of the auction by Iain Skillicorn.

Among the work on offer are paintings and drawings by Alex Corina, Sue Leach, Steve Bailey and Dannielle Campbell.

Former Deep Purple bass player Roger Glover is also represented in the sale.

Tickets to attend are £5.

Smithdown Social Arts Hub is a social enterprise for creatives with a profit for artist ethos and has been supporting creatives in South Liverpool since 2018.

It opened Gallery 455 in Smithdown Road in 2021, and over the past two years it has exhibited more than 90 artists in 23 art exhibitions..
