Anything Goes heads for the Liverpool Empire in 2022

Smash hit stage sensation Anything Goes is coming to the Liverpool Empire as part of a UK tour next spring.

The acclaimed Barbican production of Cole Porter’s classic musical will be at the Lime Street theatre from April 20-30, 2022 before returning to its London home for the summer.

Casting is yet to be confirmed for the show which is directed by three times Tony Award-winning Kathleen Marshall.

When the SS American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention head out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love...proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, a comical disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail.

The musical romp across the Atlantic features a collection of some of theatre’s most memorable songs including I Get A Kick Out of You, You’re the Top, Blow, Gabriel, Blow, It’s De-Lovely, Friendship and the title track itself.

The spectacular show features a 50 strong cast and live orchestra.

Producer Sir Howard Panter said today: “We were thrilled with the response to this energetic and uplifting show (at the Barbican). Audiences just couldn’t get enough and to achieve 15 weeks sold out night after night.

“We’re equally delighted to take this majestic show on tour across the UK, so audiences around the country can enjoy the glorious set design, breathtaking choreography and stage direction, and of course the wonderful score.”
