Tony rocks into Liverpool this autumn

Tony! (The Tony Blair Rock Opera) is coming to the Liverpool stage this autumn as part of a UK tour.

Harry Hill and Steve Brown’s musical satire will be at the Playhouse from October 10-14.

The show is billed as a ‘reckless reappraisal’ of the figure who went from Ugly Rumours front man to Prime Minister of Cool Britannia, or alternatively ‘peace-loving, long-haired hippy and would-be pop star to warmongering multimillionaire’.

Political intrigue, religion, power and romance combine with a cast of characters including John Prescot, Peter Mandelson, Alistair Campbell, Diana, Princes of Wales, George W Bush, Saddam Hussein and of course the Waterloo-raised Cherie in one irresistible musical tragedy.

The production was premiered at the Park Theatre in London last summer.
