District Theatre offers Liverpool workplace murder mysteries this Christmas
An interactive and immersive comedy whodunnit could be coming to a Liverpool workplace near you.
Actors from District Theatre hope to take over city offices which are currently empty while their staff work remotely and fill them instead with a specially created performance titled Murder on the 28th Floor to broadcast online.
The 40-minute experience is aimed at an audience of between 20 and 40 workmates who are invited to come together to enjoy some workplace bonding with a difference on Zoom.
And if people watching at home want to get directly involved, there are characters to play from the comfort of your own home as well as suspects to interrogate, crimes to solve and games to play.
Having already had a successful run taking over London law firm Clifford Chance, the company now has a production ready for Liverpool, along with Manchester and Bristol, and says it will work with individual workplaces’ Covid regulations.
Artistic director Marie Hamilton explains: “For nearly seven months many people have been working remotely and only seeing their colleagues through a screen.
“We can’t change that, but we can flip it on its head and make a group call an absolute riot. It’s so important to laugh, no matter how dark things get.”
Murder on the 28th Floor is available to book for performances from November 2. More from the company website HERE
