ACC Liverpool and Adlib share Culture Recovery Fund millions

ACC Liverpool – the company which runs the M&S Bank Arena – has been awarded more than £2m in the latest round of grants from the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund.

It is due to get £2,972,659 as one of 35 arts and cultural organisations nationwide receiving grants of between £1m and £3m to help them weather the Coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile Knowsley sound, lighting and video equipment company Adlib Audio Ltd is getting £1,650,356 support from the £1.57bn fund.

The firm, which has more than 160 employees, provides equipment for the live events industry – including major music and comedy tours - and like the waterfront arena and conference centre, its business has been badly hit since lockdown saw venues shut and events cancelled in March.

Around £334m from the Culture Recovery Fund has already been distributed to 2,000 organisations nationwide, including those in Liverpool and the wider city region which are between them getting more than £9.5m.

More announcements are due to be made in coming weeks about other organisations which applied successfully for over £1m in the second round of the grants programme, as well as recipients of the £270m Repayable Finance programme.
