Liverpool cultural attractions tell visitors - we're still open

Liverpool’s arts and heritage venues have joined forces to remind visitors that they are still open despite the City Region being put under Tier 3 Covid restrictions.

Tate Liverpool, National Museums Liverpool, FACT, Bluecoat, the Royal Court, Everyman and Playhouse, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the Unity Theatre are all behind the campaign to keep people coming through their doors.

All venues say they are adhering to strict Covid-safe rules including compulsory face coverings (unless you have a medical reason not to wear one), hand sanitiser stations and carefully monitored social distancing. Entry is by timed tickets with information being taken for track and trace.

Along with its permanent collection Tate Liverpool is currently staging the acclaimed Don McCullin retrospective on its fourth floor (tickets £13), and Mikhail Karikis: Ferocious Love (free) in the ground floor Wolfson Gallery.

The Linda McCartney Retrospective (tickets £9) at the Walker Art Gallery has just been extended to January, while the Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight is staging the free German Revolution Expressionist Prints show and Sudley House in Mossley Hill has opened its Home and Away exhibition.

Merseyside Maritime Museum - which has a new permanent exhibition called Life on Board, the Museum of Liverpool, World Museum and International Slavery Museum are all also open from Wednesday to Sunday each week.

FACT, which is open from Wednesday to Sunday each week, has two free shows running at its Wood Street home – And Say the Animal Responded? and Augmented Empathy.

And the Bluecoat is open from Thursday to Sunday each week, apart from half term week when it opens from Wednesday, October 28 to Sunday, November 1.

The School Lane venue is showcasing work by Jonathan Baldock and Frances Disley until November 1 and Celebrating Liverpool’s Black Artists – Sumuyya Khader until October 25.
