National Museums Liverpool Covid-19 venue closures
National Museums Liverpool venues will be closed until further notice to help in stopping the spread of Covid-19.
The closure affects the Museum of Liverpool, World Museum, Merseyside Maritime Museum, Walker Art Gallery, International Slavery Museum, Lady Lever Art Gallery and Sudley House.
An official statement posted on NML’s website said: “The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff is our top priority and, while we understand many of you will be disappointed by the closures, we do not wish to put people at unnecessary risk.
“While our museums and galleries are closed, you can still engage with us online via our website and social media and view highlights from our digitised collections online.”
The closure affects the current special exhibition Liverpool on Wheels at the Museum of Liverpool, while two major shows – a Linda McCartney Retrospective and German Revolution Expressionist Prints – had been programmed to open at the Walker and Lady Lever respectively next month.
