Chester Storyhouse has closed its main spaces to visitors over Coronavirus pandemic advice.

It had re-opened its entrance lobby as a mini-library with 'soup and solidarity' being served to people who pop in from 9am to 5pm.

But that service has now also been closed because of difficulties with social distancing.

The venue, which combines theatre, cinema, library, bar and restaurant, had previously announced it was postponing its next homegrown spring shows Antigone and Brewster’s Millions.

Now all activity in the main areas at the Hunter Street venue is on hold until at least the end of March.

While 'soup and solidarity' has had to be curtailed, Storyhouse bosses have revealed they are working on staging online storytelling, singalongs and karaoke among other initiatives.
