The RLPO presents Last Night! at the Philharmonic Hall this weekend – bringing the current summer season of concerts to a conclusion.
Concertgoers can expect a host of well-known tunes, from Barwick Green (better known as the theme to the Archers) and Londonderry Air to Sailing By, Percy Grainger’s Country Gardens and Morricone’s theme from The Mission.
And Last Night of the Proms fans will also be rewarded with Parry’s Jerusalem, and Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance with its sing-along Land of Hope and Glory.
Jess Gillam, the first ever saxophonist to win the Woodwind final of BBC Young Musician of the Year, in 2016, takes soloist duties, and joins the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir under the baton of Professor Ian Tracey.
Add in music by Vaughan Williams, Eric Coates, Delius and Arnold, and it’s an evening with a party atmosphere.
Last Night! is at the Philharmonic Hall on Saturday, July 22. Tickets HERE.
